Car Fire, Injury Crash On I-580 Prompts Sig-Alert

LIVERMORE, CA — The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig-Alert Thursday morning due to a collision and car fire on westbound Interstate 580 near Airway Boulevard in Livermore. The injury crash, which involved at least two vehicles, was reported at 8:35 a.m., according to the CHP. The wreck blocked several lanes on the busy freeway during the morning commute.

The CHP and Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department crews responded to assist those involved and the fire has been extinguished. The alert was lifted at 9:23 a.m. No other information is available.
