Car Fire Sparks Blaze Along I-580 In Livermore

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames.

LIVERMORE, CA — Firefighters in Livermore quickly extinguished a vegetation fire sparked by a car following a crash on eastbound Interstate 580 near N. Flynn Road Tuesday morning. The collision was reported just before 9 a.m. and by the time first responders arrived, the car was fully engulfed and the flames had spread to the nearby brush, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Alameda County Fire Department crews quickly extinguished the two-acre blaze with the help of Cal Fire, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire and Camp Parks crews. No one was injured during the incident. No other information was available.
