Chabot-Las Positas Community College Names Interim Chancellor
"We believe it is in the best interest of the district to name an interim chancellor at this time."

From the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District: On January 15, 2019, at its regularly
scheduled Board meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District named Mr. Ronald P. Gerhard as interim chancellor of the District.
Gerhard currently serves as the district's vice chancellor of business services. His salary will be $22,916.67 per month, effective January 22, 2019 to August 22, 2020, or until the permanent position is filled, whichever is earlier.
Gerhard has served in multiple roles for the district including vice president of administrative services at Chabot College. Prior to joining the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, he
served as the vice chancellor for finance and administration at City College of San Francisco, vice chancellor of finance and administration for the Peralta Community College District, was the chief business officer for Compton Community College District and the business manager for San Bernardino Valley College.

Gerhard earned a master of business administration degree in finance and accounting from the University of California, Riverside and a bachelor of art degree in accounting from the University of Redlands.
Following a national search and after interviewing three finalists for the position, the Board decided to not to select a permanent chancellor. Gerhard was not a candidate in the national
search.

California Community Colleges and will help us stay the course until such time that we can launch another national search for a permanent chancellor."
