Child Injured By Hit-And-Run Driver Near School: LPD
The 39-year-old woman, who was later found in an apartment complex, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

LIVERMORE, CA — A student riding a bicycle was injured when she was struck by a suspected drunk driver in Livermore Tuesday morning, police officials said. The collision, which was reported in the 600 block of East Jack London Boulevard near the Rancho Las Positas Elementary School, was reported just before 8:30 a.m., according to the Pulsepoint phone application.
The 10-year-old girl suffered minor injuries and was taken by an ambulance to a nearby hospital, according to police. She was wearing her helmet and is expected to recover from her injuries. Witnesses in the area at the time of the crash gave police a description of the suspect’s vehicle and license plate, which was found nearby a short time later.
The 39-year-old driver, identified by police as Kacey Coogan, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, driving while under the influence and driving on a suspended license, according to police. No other information is available.
