Commercial Structure Fire Extinguished In Livermore: LPFD

LIVERMORE, CA — An internal commercial structure fire was extinguished at 7855 Southfront Road in Livermore, a large commercial building home to Advantage Metal Products.

The fire broke out in a machinist work area of the building just before 10:11 a.m. Wednesday and was quickly extinguished by personnel from the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department and the Alameda County Fire Department, according to LPFD Battalion Chief Dan Moyles.

No injuries or structural damage was reported, but two employees were sent to Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley for smoke inhalation. “They located that work area, extinguished the fire, and confirmed that all the employees were out of the building. It was brought to our attention there were a couple folks that had smoke inhalation - we had them evaluated by an ambulance crew, and a decision was made to transport both employees for further evaluation to the hospital,” Moyles said.

The cause has not been determined. The fire was located inside the structure, Moyles said.

As rain pours down on Livermore, the department is more concerned about water than fire. Moyles said the department has been briefed on storm preparation, and is providing information to the cities of Livermore and Pleasanton.
