DA Files Felony Charges Against Livermore Shooting Suspects

The Alameda County DA filed felony charges against two suspects accused of shooting into a crowded Livermore home.

LIVERMORE, CA - The Alameda County District Attorney filed a number of felony charges against two suspects in connection with a non-injury shooting in Livermore on Jan. 6.

Alejandro Quintero-Avalos, 20, and Brenda Gaspar-Sanchez, 21, are accused of collaborating in a shooting that took place near the intersection of Broadmoor Street and Scenic Avenue.

According to a criminal complaint signed by Livermore officer James Tompkins, Gaspar-Sanchez agreed to drive Quintero-Avalos to a home into which he allegedly fired several shots. No one inside was injured.

Officers found shell casings, but no injured victims. The LPD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau determined that suspects had fired several shots into a residence. One bullet hit a parked car, and two other bullets hit the garage door. Tompkins said in his statement that cellular data analysis, surveillance video, eyewitness statements and physical evidence show that the two were involved.

The motive remains under investigation, though police say the suspects knew a resident of the home. Several search warrants were issued in Livermore and Tracy, and police recovered the gun used in the crime.

The two were arrested Jan. 19 and are now charged with four violent felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling. The DA alleges that the defendants "willingly, unlawfully, and maliciously discharge[d] a firearm at an inhabited dwelling house."
