Deadline Nears For Livermore 'National Night Out 2018' Sign-Ups

Neighborhoods interested in visits from police & fire must register soon. Kick-off BBQ for hosts is July 24. Help spread the word!

LIVERMORE, CA – This year's National Night Out, the annual evening to promote police partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 7. And sign-ups are underway for Livermore neighborhoods interested in having event drop-ins from the Livermore Police Department, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department or officials from the city or parks department.

Applications are available in the police department lobby or online here, and the deadline is Tuesday, July 31.

Millions of neighbors in thousands of communities across the U.S. take part in National Night Out, started in 1984, on the first Tuesday in August with block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and often with such activities as safety demonstrations and visits from emergency personnel.

"August 7th is fast approaching," the Livermore Police Department said. "If you are interested in hosting a neighborhood event for National Night Out, please remember to register your event with the police department so we can put you on our list of stops!"

Livermore police also are hosting a National Night Out Kick-Off BBQ on Tuesday, July 24 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Barn. Attendees can visit with the other community members who are hosting NNO events, LPD staff and win NNO raffle prizes.
