Dramatic Photos: Sycamore Grove Park Fire Blackens 35 Acres
The prescribed burn temporarily closed the upper at the popular Livermore park, fire officials said.
LIVERMORE, CA — A section of Sycamore Grove Park in Livermore was temporarily closed Monday during a prescribed burn inside the park. Firefighters from the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department assisted the Livermore Area Parks and Recreation Department with the vegetation management burn.
According to fire officials, the burn helps rid the park of noxious weeds and promote growth of native plants and flowers. More than 35 acres were charred during the burn, fire officials said.
Sycamore Grove Park is located at 1051 Wetmore Rd. in Livermore.
