LIVERMORE, CA — The California Highway Patrol on Friday caught a driver who is accused of driving 127 miles per hour on Interstate 580 near Greenville Road in Livermore. An officer stopped the Hyundai and the driver was issued a misdemeanor speeding ticket, according to the Dublin CHP’s Twitter feed.

Last month, a driver on the same freeway managed to rack up about $1,000 in traffic fines with two speeding tickets in 11 minutes.

The CHP regularly shares a variety of traffic stops and violations on social media in an effort to raise awareness and discourage drivers from breaking traffic laws.
