LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department and the California Highway Patrol are administering a joint sobriety checkpoint Friday evening somewhere in the city of Livermore.The checkpoint is scheduled for Friday between approximately 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. Signs will be posted ahead of the checkpoint, and delays should only take a few moments, according to CHP.The key objective is to reduce the number of impaired drivers on the road. The checkpoint is scheduled to take place at a location known with an established DUI problem.

Kiddie Academy of Livermore will host Hero Play Day on Friday, July 31 at 5 p.m. for infants to 12-year-olds. Families are invited to attend this free community event designed to help children recognize and celebrate their personal heroes.

The new hands-on event will be an opportunity for children to dress up as their favorite superhero and participate in “training” stations set up around the Academy, including obstacle courses, strength tests and kindness missions.

2024 Petite Sirah paired with Brabander Goat Gouda A Dutch goat's milk cheese aged over 8 months. Bright and creamy, with a clean tang, notes of caramel and toffee, and a smooth, mellow finish.
2022 "Big Wood" Zinfandel paired with Alter Fritz Alpine Cheese A German-style Alpine cow's milk cheese, mountain-aged and firm. Nutty and full-bodied, with savory richness, hints of sweet cream, and a smooth, satisfying finish.
2022 "Muy Bueno" Zinfandel paired with Red Rock Cheddar An American cow's milk cheddar with marbled blue veining. Bold and crumbly, with sharp cheddar tang, earthy blue notes, and a rich, savory finish.
