Dogs and their humans will enjoy demos and fun giveaways.

LIVERMORE, CA — East Bay residents are invited the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District’s Dogtoberfest this month. Dogtoberfest, which is open to all dogs and their humans, will be held at the Robert Livermore Park on October 14 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Those attending will enjoy giveaways and all dogs will get a free bandana. Pups and their owners are also invited to participate in a Dog Costume Contest, a Dog & Owner Lookalike Contest, and a Dog Trick Contest.
This will be the fourth year the park district has hosted the popular event. The last three years, the district tried to break the Guinness World Record for "Most Dogs Wearing a Bandana."

Each year they fell just short of earning the record. A park district spokesperson said the record attempt will not be taking place this year after the Guinness World Record organization said they will no longer be sending an official to Dogtoberfest while the category for "Most Dogs Wearing a Bandana" is under review.
Animal Rescue Foundation, ShepHeroes, Livermore K-9 Foundation, Love and Second Chances Rescue, and the Valley Humane Society will all be in attendance with adoptable dogs, according to the park district. Beer from Shadow Puppet Brewing Company and wine from Wood Family Vineyards and food will be available for purchase.
