Electronics Thieves Targeting Tri-Valley Coffee Shop Customers

BREAKING: Police said the thefts have happened very quickly. They are warning coffee shop customers to be on guard.

LIVERMORE, CA — Portable electronics have been stolen from several people in at least three different Tri-Valley coffee shops, police officials said. The first incident occurred in Pleasanton on October 23. The second was reported in Dublin on the same day. The most recent theft occurred in Livermore on October 24. In all of the cases, police said three suspects targeted laptops and cellular phones from tables and purses.

“These crimes occur very quickly with the suspects entering and then exiting the establishment in just a few seconds,” Livermore police said. “The suspects then flee the area in a waiting vehicle.”

Police did not give any suspect descriptions.

Police remind customers to be aware of surroundings and report any suspicious behavior to the local police department. Police recommend customers keep their valuables out of sight and secured. They ask citizens to keep all items password protected and advise documenting all serial numbers.
