Elk Grazing In Sunol: Photo Of The Day
Billy Stubblefield observed this majestic elk while sitting in traffic on 84.

SUNOL, CA — Most times you curse being in traffic, but in some rare instances, it gives you a chance to stop, look and photograph something truly magical.
Billy Stubblefield took advantage of a Sunol traffic jam to photograph an elk grazing on a local field. Elk are one of the largest species in the deer family, and are native to western North America and central and East Asia. The first known fossils appeared 25 million years ago.
