Fire Crews Knock Down Fire on Patterson Pass Road
Fire officials say the blaze produced a large amount of smoke.
Fire officials quickly extinguished a brush fire in the railroad easement just north of Patterson Pass Road between Candy Court and Vasco Road this morning, Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Testa said.
The fire, which was reported at about 11:22 a.m., burned just under an acre of brush, along with items associated with homeless encampment.
“Firefighters from the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department, Alameda County Fire Department and Camp Parks Fire Department brought the fire under control within approximately 30 minutes,” Testa said. “Camp Parks Fire Department provided a water tender (truck with very large water tank) as there was no other water supply available in the fire area. Firefighters remained on scene until 2:45 p.m. mopping up hot spots.”
