Fire in Arroyo Mocho Creek Extinguished

The rapidly spreading fire was fueled by grass, brush and trees within the creek area.

Livermore, CA — Fire crews remain in the area of Holmes and Aaron streets conducting fire watch procedures after knocking down a brush fire reported in the Arroyo Mocho Creek Monday afternoon.

Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Battalion Chief Aaron Lacey says Holmes Street was partially closed for about an hour due to limited visibility caused by smoke from the rapidly spreading blaze, which was reported just before 3 p.m.

"It took firefighters approximately 45 minutes to contain the fire," Lacey said. "The fire is under investigation, but is believed to have started on property near the creek."
