First Time Ever Men's College Lacrosse Comes to Livermore

SJSU vs. Wisconsin Men's College Lacrosse Game comes to Livermore as fundraiser for Phantoms Lacrosse club & Livermore HS Lacrosse.

If you’ve lived on the East Coast where lacrosse is as popular as football, it may be a sport you've watched. If you're a California native, this sport may be one you're just hearing about. According to US Lacrosse, California is among one of ten states experiencing significant growth in this sport, and growth here in Livermore is no exception. The Livermore Phantom Lacrosse League was formed in 2005 for recreational and developmental purposes to serve players from ages 7 to 15. The League reported a record setting roster surpassing 140 players last season. Next spring, the league's registration is expected to bring in a new record number of lacrosse players.

While the popularity of lacrosse continues to spread, a unique opportunity presents itself to watch a college game played right here in the Tri-Valley. For the first time ever, college lacrosse comes to Livermore.

Larry Boehm, San Jose State University Men's Lacrosse Coach, is currently working with local Livermore Phantoms Lacrosse League to help players advance their skills through its annual Fall Skills Clinic. Boehm has coordinated to have his SJSU team come play a college game in Livermore, where proceeds benefit Livermore Phantoms Lacrosse and Livermore High School Lacrosse.
