Granada High Grad Awarded Scholarship from California Water Service

The student will be attending California State University, San Diego.

California Water Service (Cal Water) recently announced that a student from Livermore is among the recipients for the company’s fall 2015 college scholarship program cycle.

Recipient Madison Gerton is majoring in health science at the California State University, San Diego. She graduated in June with honors from Granada High School for her commitment to community service and academic achievement. Her family still lives locally.

“Cal Water is committed to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve, whether that means providing high-quality, reliable water service or investing in our youth and helping them achieve their dreams of higher education and greater service to their community,” said Cal Water District Manager Frank Vallejo. “We have some outstanding young men and women in our community, and we are proud to be able to support students like Madison.”

The next scholarship cycle will open in spring 2016 for students pursuing higher education in the fall of 2016. To be eligible for a scholarship, students must live in a Cal Water service area.

Cal Water’s scholarship program is funded by Cal Water’s shareholders, not ratepayers. The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. To learn more about the program, visit www.calwater.com/community/scholarship.
