Hawaii Wins Little League Intermediate World Series Championship
The games wrapped up Sunday with a 5-1 win in Livermore.
LIVERMORE, CA — The Little League World Series closed with a 5-1 win as Hawaii dominated South Korea. The Central East Maui Little League from Wailuku, Hawaii defeated the West Seoul Little League from South Korea in the final game Sunday night.
Eleven teams from around the world competed during the series at the Max Baer Park in Livermore. The host team from the Tri-Valley's District 57 this year was Tassajara Valley Little League from Danville. Other teams came from the West, Central, Southwest, Southeast and East regions in the US. International teams will join from Canada, Puerto Rico, Curacao, Czech Republic and South Korea.
The popular Little League Intermediate World Series is the 9th Little League World Series and first in the baseball-rich state of California. Players ages 11 to 13 are eligible to play in this Intermediate baseball league, which features a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot bases, also known as “50/70”.
