LIVERMORE, CA — More than 400 participants raised over $60,000 at Hike for Hope, the annual fundraiser for Hope Hospice.

On May 9, supporters gathered at Del Valle Regional Park to enjoy a hike, community barbecue, and raffle. The proceeds from the walk raised money for Hope Hospice’s work providing essential hospice and grief support for patients and caregivers across the East Bay, including programs not covered by Medicare.

Hope for Hospice currently serves approximately 2,000 individuals annually through its various service lines, including hospice, palliative care, dementia care education, grief support, and family caregiver resources.

This year featured “In Their Steps,” a tribute wall featuring colorful paper shoes bearing handwritten messages honoring loved ones. Participants were encouraged to write notes in memory of their own family and friends.

“Hike for Hope reflects the incredible compassion of our community,” stated Anthony Lupian LCSW, Senior Vice President of By the Bay Health South Care region, which includes Hope Hospice. “Every person who showed up today helped sustain Hope Hospice in delivering comfort, dignity, and support to patients and families navigating one of life’s most difficult journeys. We are deeply grateful for the generosity and heart behind this event and for the community who shows up year after year to support us.”
