Hike For Hope Registration Open

Hope Hospice's annual hike will host its first in-person event since 2019 in May.

LIVERMORE, CA — Registration is open for Hope Hospice’s annual Hike for Hope, which will take place on Saturday, May 14 at Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore. This will be the first time the hike has been held in person since 2019.

The hike, which has been held since 1980, raises money for the Dublin-based nonprofit, which provides hospice care for patients with terminal illnesses, support for caregivers, funding for patient care, dementia education, and grief support services. The hike aims to raise $100,000 each year, Hope Hospice spokesperson Kendra Strey told Pleasanton Weekly. As of Feb. 11, $7,945 has already been raised, according to the Hike for Hope website.

Hikers will have the option of an easier 2.6-mile lakefront route, and a 4.4-mile route with a moderate incline, and sweeping views. A complimentary barbecue lunch sponsored by the MCE Corporation will take place afterward at the Fiesta Grande Picnic Area.
