That Homeless Addict Is Somebody's Child: Livermore Mom's Plight

A photo on Facebook of Corey Sylvester passed out on a BART train prompted a heartbreaking response: "This is my son."

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore mother is desperately trying to find her son who lives on the streets and is addicted to heroin. Jacqueline Berlinn told NBC Bay Area that it's been months since she has seen her grown child, Corey Sylvester.

But recently, a photo of him passed out on a BART train popped up on the "B.A.R.T. Rants and Raves" Facebook page, and some of the comments were pretty hateful, so Berlinn decided to respond.

"This is my son," she posted, and shared an old photo of Sylvester when he was sober with the caption, "May he return there soon."
