Hope 100 Golf Marathon Fundraiser

Hope 100 Golf Marathon Fundraiser Hits a Hole in One for Hope Hospice

At the crack of dawn on October 8, twenty golfers arrived at Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton ready to take on a unique challenge: to complete 100 holes of golf – in one day, and raise funds to benefit Hope Hospice. This year, the Hope 100 Golf Marathon raised nearly $70,000.

The event first launched in 2015, and over the past four years has raised a total of nearly $365,000, making it one of Hope’s most successful fundraising events.

“I am gratified that so many dedicated people have participated in this amazing event over the last four years,” says Hope Hospice board member and event chair Kathleen Berriatua. “The Hope 100 Golf Marathon is a demanding event that involves a serious commitment of the players who each set out to raise a minimum of $2,500 in addition to golfing 100 holes in a single day,” she adds. Among the group of golfers, nine have participated in the event for all four years.

“Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a tremendous success,” says Jennifer Hansen, Hope Hospice CEO. “As a non-profit agency, we rely on the support of individuals, groups, businesses and corporate leaders to help us continue working with families in need,” she explains.

The net proceeds from this event will help Hope Hospice provide the compassionate, high quality end of life care necessary for hundreds of patients and their families throughout the year as well as grief support and community education.
