Hope Hospice Receives $7,000 from Castlewood Ladies' Tennis Tournament
The annual "Hit for Hospice" tournament was held on September 12-14.

Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton hosted the annual “Hit for Hospice” Ladies Member-Guest Tennis Tournament September 12-14 to benefit Hope Hospice. Forty-eight women competed in the tournament that raised nearly $7,000 for Hope Hospice, a nonprofit agency serving families in the Bay Area since 1980.

Hope Hospice,” says Victoria Emmons, Hope Hospice CEO.
At the awards dinner that followed the tournament, bidders competed for auction items that were donated by individuals and various companies.

Castlewood Head Tennis Pro Jim Swansiger organized the tournament along with a committee that included Lisa Bargeman, Julia Cabral, Lorna Smith, Kathleen Berriatua and Jen McNamara. Berriatua, a member of the Hope Hospice Board of Directors, organized and managed the fundraising activities with the assistance of Jim and Julia Cabral.
Winners in the three-day event included: Kilauea 6.5 Flight – Hazel Scott and Jill Schulze; Haleakala 7.0 Flight – Kim Stramler and Lynda Darnell; Kahala 7.5 Flight – Marci Rogers and Geraldine Romero; and Mauna Loa 8.0 Flight – Annie Callahan and Susan Regan.

event a success and to benefit a wonderful cause.”
