LIVERMORE, CA — All lanes on westbound Interstate 580 at Grant Line Road have reopened this afternoon. The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig-alert after drivers reported a massive pothole on the busy freeway early Tuesday morning.

Caltrans crews were called to repair a "pavement issue," which affected at least two lanes of traffic. The alert was lifted at about seven hours later.

The CHP says they do not know if the recent rains contributed to the asphalt damage.
