Las Positas star Anand Hundal signs with Div. I Seattle

First Team All-State pick who averaged a double-double last season going from LPC Hawks to Redhawks

Las Positas College basketball star Anand Hundal, an All-State First Team selection, has signed with Division I Seattle University.
The 6-foot-10 forward out of Manteca High was a team leader and a double-double machine in the 2017-18 season, averaging 14.8 points and 10.3 rebounds a game, both tops on the Hawks.
Las Positas (18-11) finished a solid third in the powerful Coast-North headed by state champion CCSF (33-1). Not surprisingly, Hundal had a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds in his final game with Las Positas, a loss to host Santa Rosa in the CCCAA NorCal playoffs.
In announcing his signing, Hundal, who made the All Coast-North First Team, tweeted “My next chapter #signed”.
He also tweeted a note of thanks to those who have supported him along the way, including praising LPC head coach James Giacomazzi and lead assistant coach Jordan Whittenburg.
“The last 2 years at Las Positas have been amazing. I would like to thank coach James and coach Jordan for developing me at Juco and getting me to this point … My family and friends have always believed in me and I love and appreciate all of their support. I thank God for allowing me to be in this position … I’m happy to announce I will be spending the next 2 years at Seattle U being a Redhawk!!! I’m grateful for the opportunity Coach Hayford has given me and I’m excited to live my dream playing Divison I basketball.”
Like the LPC Hawks, the Seattle Redhawks are coming off a successful 2017-18 season, falling 92-90 to Central Arkansas in overtime in the first round of the Collegiate Basketball Invitational. Seattle was 20-14 overall and 8-6 in the WAC.
