Livermore Aquacowboys Compete at 14 & Under Winter Junior Olympics

LAC Qualifies 19 Swimmers for Championships

The Livermore Aquacowboys (LAC) competed at the 2014 Pacific Swimming Winter 14 & Under Junior Olympic Championship held in Morgan Hill, CA.  LAC had 19 swimmers qualify: Minh-nha Kawamura, Annelyse Combitsis, Faith Carroll, Maggie Robinson, Jack Davis, Ryan Martinez, Jack Hendrick, Alex Quach, Taber daCosta, Melinda Davis, Katie Ottman, Kylie Peters, Parker Anderson, Tori Carroll, Hunter Woffinden, Jared Tovera, Chris Gonzalez, Paige DaCosta, and Nicholas Quach. With 1400 swimmers entered in the meet, LAC had some outstanding swimmers who qualified in the Top 8 overall and several others making Top 16 for finals each evening. Minh-nha Kawamura: 500 free (8th), 200 free (14th), 100 back (10th); Annelyse Combitsis: 500 free (16th); Jack Davis: 50 back (16th); Jared Tovera: 100 fly (14th); and Hunter Woffinden: 500 free (11th), 1000 free (9th), 400 IM (13th), 200 fly (8th). The LAC 9-10 Girls 200 Free Relay of Minh-nha K., Annelyse C., Faith C., and Maggie R. swam to a top 8th place over-all. Pacific Swimming is the third largest of USA Swimming’s 59 regional associations and is made up of 120 swim clubs and more than 16,000 swimmers. Its membership is centered in California’s San Francisco Bay Area but also includes the coastal counties of Northern California from Monterey to the Oregon border, the Stockton-Modesto area of California’s Central Valley, and the Reno-Carson City-Lake Tahoe area on the California-Nevada border.
