LIVERMORE, CA — When Darcie Kent of Darcie Kent Vineyards in Livermore found two kittens and their mother among her trellises, she called on Valley Humane Society for help. She said she was so blown away by the nonprofit that she decided to donate $5 from every sale of Dog Day Cabernet to Valley Humane Society.

So far Darcie Kent Vineyards has donated $20,000 to Valley Humane Society, according to a news release from the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association.

Dog Day Cabernet is marked by a red label featuring the Valley Humane Society logo and Kent's Shepherd, Brunello. The cab is described as having notes of dark fruit, tobacco and spices, and is still for sale in the Livermore, Danville, Concord, Fremont, Tracy, Manteca, Almaden and Santa Clara Costco stores.
