Livermore To Celebrate Chinese New Year At Bankhead Plaza
The three-hour celebration will feature dance, food, and workshops in calligraphy and lantern-making.
LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore will welcome the Year of the Tiger in style on Saturday with a Lunar New Year celebration at Bankhead Plaza.
Sponsored by Livermore Arts, the three-hour celebration will feature performances by Pleasanton-based XiaoPei Chinese Dance and Kung Fu Dragon. The celebration will also feature light refreshments, and workshops in lantern-making and Chinese calligraphy. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to create their own spring couplets, traditional Chinese poetry composed on red scrolls that ask for good fortune in the coming year.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will last from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Livermore’s Bankhead Plaza on 2400 First Street. See here for more information.
