Livermore Chamber to Honor Tri-Valley Dream Makers

The Livermore Chamber of Commerce will honor "dream makers" and "risk takers" at its annual awards ceremony.

The 's second annual Dream Makers and Risk Takers awards luncheon will be held March 29 at .

The keynote speaker is Wil Agatstein, an Intel veteran and a visionary  for the company’s strategy in emerging markets. Agatstein is the executive director of the UC Davis Center for Entrepreneurship.

The event was created to celebrate innovators in the Tri-Valley, companies and individuals who are changing the world.

Among the honorees is John Dulchinos, CEO of Adept Technology. Based in Pleasanton, Adept is a global concern that provides intelligent vision guided robotic system and services.

Other Dream Makers and Risk Takers awards will be announced later.

An addition this year is the Student Dream Maker award. This award is presented to an area student who has come up with revolutionary idea that has the potential to make the world a better place. It's a formidable challenge, but one of our students was able to achieve it.

The annual Sandia/Las Positas Scholarship award will be given at the event. This year’s winner of the $1,000 scholarship is Takeo Hirishi, a second-year student at and vice president of the student association.

Dream Makers and Risk Takers is sponsored by Chevron and Western International Securities.

The event starts at 11:30 a.m. with a half hour of networking. The program runs from noon until 1:30 p.m. Registration is available on the Livermore Chamber of Commerce website. The cost is $45 for members, $55 for nonmembers and $300 for a table of eight.
