Livermore Cop, K-9 Help Deliver Bike To Student

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore youngster received a BMX bike, delivered specially by an LPD K9 named Drake.

Tonni was participating in the annual Shop With A Cop event, in which select LVJUSD students are able to go on a sponsored shopping spree with officers to purchase holiday gifts. At Walmart, Tonni was shopping with Drake and LPD Officer Long. They couldn’t find the BMX bike he wanted, so Tonni instead purchased laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, and groceries for his family, according to the Livermore Police Department.

Officer Long found the bike online, and LPD Dispatch chipped in to buy a helmet and lock. Later, Long and Drake surprised Tonni with his bike right before Christmas.

This year, the Livermore Police Department raised a total of $10,840 to purchase gifts for Livermore children.
