Livermore Cops Grow Facial Hair, Don Blue-Streaked Hair

The personal grooming choices will last through November and are designed to draw attention to the "Shop With a Cop" program.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department is using No-Shave November as a way to raise funds for the “Shop With a Cop” program that benefits underprivileged children during the holiday season.

In partnership with the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District, Shop With A Cop lets LPD officers "adopt" LVJUSD students who are in financial need. Participating officers take students shopping for Christmas presents for family members and themselves.

Funds for the “Shop With a Cop” program are raised in two ways: By participating officers making personal cash contributions, and by members of the community making contributions via GoFundMe. For a $75 donation, participating male officers are permitted to go the entire month of November without shaving. Participating female officers are allowed to add a blue streak to their hair for the purpose of attracting attention to the cause.
