LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department conducted a DUI checkpoint between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. Friday.

More than 1,100 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, LPD said. During the operation, 19 drivers were cited for driving without a license; two drivers were cited for driving with a suspended license; nine drivers underwent standardized field sobriety tests; and two drivers were arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The California Highway Patrol also made two additional DUI arrests while patrolling the area. Officers were joined by Sandra Chesterman, a Mothers Against Drunk Driving advocate who lost her 21-year-old daughter Kristina to a drunk driver in 2013.
