Livermore Family Wins $50K in Christmas Lights Competition
They topped the competition on Monday night's episode of The Great Christmas Light Fight on ABC. WATCH.
LIVERMORE, CA - It would be tough to find a happier family in Livermore today than the Phipps family, who won $50,000 Monday night on Episode 2 of The Great Christmas Light Fight on Channel 7.
“That is a whole lot of money!” Matt Phipps told the celebrity host and judge, Taniya Nayak of the Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible. “I am so out of my mind. This is so much bigger than I ever thought it would be. It’s such an honor to win The Great Christmas Light Fight.”

The Phipps family incorporated music, water, fire and smoke in their display, including a 22 foot tree made out of PVC and aircraft cables. Nayak praised their ingenuity in incorporating so many elements in their light display.
In addition to the cash, they won the coveted Christmas Bulb trophy.
