UPDATE: Structure Burned, Firefighter Injured in 53-Acre Brush Fire East of Livermore

Cal Fire officials issued one final update at 6:37 p.m. via Twitter, “#TeslaFire [final] off Tesla Road, southeast of Livermore (Alameda County) is now 100% contained at 53 acres.”

A grass fire east of Livermore has spread to 53 acres, damaged one home and injured a firefighter this afternoon, according to Cal Fire. Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of the fire, but it has damaged one home and destroyed a barn, a vehicle and a shipping container, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was reported in the area of Tesla Road and Clifford Drive at about 4 p.m., according to the Alameda County Fire Department. The fire spread rapidly and had grown to 53 acres as of shortly before 6 p.m., but firefighters have stopped its forward progress.

One firefighter was injured working to put out the fire. A Cal Fire official could not immediately provide an update on the seriousness of the injury. Crews have closed Tesla Road at Greenville Road and Cal Fire has received reports of wires down in the area.

Cal Fire has sent six fire engines, four bulldozers, two hand crews, two air tankers and two helicopters to fight the blaze. Alameda County firefighters are also working to contain the fire.

The Telsa Fire has burned 53 acres, according to CalFire Twitter. Residents around Tri-Valley have reported smelling and seeing smoke from the fire.

A grass fire east of Livermore has spread to 40 acres, burned a structure and injured a firefighter this afternoon, according to Cal Fire. The fire was reported in the area of Tesla Road and Clifford Drive at about 4 p.m., according to the Alameda County Fire Department.

As of shortly before 5 p.m., the fire was spreading rapidly and had grown to 40 acres. At least one structure has burned in the blaze and others are threatened, according to Cal Fire. One firefighter was injured working to put out the fire. a Cal Fire official could not immediately provide an update on the seriousness of the injury.

CalFire is battling a 40 acre grass fire in Livermore. At least one home, and possibly more, are fully engulfed in flames.

The fire is burning off Tesla Road in the Altamont. Tesla is closed at Greenville.

CalFire spokeswoman Pam Timmerman says air tanker, helicopter and bulldozers have been called in.

Alameda County Fire is also on the fire lines.

No injuries have been reported.
