28 Arrested During Livermore Lab Protest Friday
Police said about 80 protesters gathered at the laboratory last Friday to protest nuclear weapons.
LIVERMORE, CA — Almost 30 people were arrested last Friday during an anti-nuclear weapons protest held at the Livermore National Laboratory, police officials said. About 80 protesters gathered at the laboratory last Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to protest nuclear weapons.
Livermore police, the California Highway Patrol and lab security officers responded to the protest. Police arrested 28 protesters on suspicion of unlawful assembly. Police said the road at the west gate entrance to the lab was temporarily closed during the protest.
