Livermore Man Found With 500 Pounds Of Copper Wire, Meth: Fremont PD

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore man was arrested in Fremont after police allegedly found suspected methamphetamine, electric saws, bolt cutters, and over 500 pounds of copper wire, according to the Fremont Police Department.

On Tuesday, Feb. 6 at around 2:30 a.m., Fremont officers stopped a car around Farwell Drive, according to the Fremont Police Department. Officers searched the vehicle and say they found roughly four ounces of suspected methamphetamine, several electrical saws, bolt cutters, and over 500 pounds of copper wire. Suspect Juan Jose Cazares-Alvarado of Livermore told officers that the suspected meth and copper wire did not belong to him.

Police say they attempted to find the owners of the wire, but were unsuccessful.

Cazares-Alvarado was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of burglary tools, and driving without a license.

The other three occupants of the car were arrested for outstanding warrants, police said.
