Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters Sent to Battle Erskine Fire

As of Sunday night, the blaze had consumed 43,460 acres in Kern County.

Livermore, CA— Four firefighters from the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department were sent to help with the firefighting efforts in Kern County, fire officials said.

The strike team left the Tri-Valley on Friday afternoon to help with the Erskine Fire near Lake Isabella after Gov. Jerry Brown issued a state of emergency for Kern County.

As of Sunday night, the blaze, which started on Wednesday, had consumed 43,460 acres. The fire has destroyed 100 homes and two people have also died as a result of the wildfire. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

On June 21, firefighters from the Hayward, Oakland, Fremont and Alameda county fire departments were to help fight the growing Fish Fire in Duarte in Los Angeles County.
