Livermore Police Awarded $126K Traffic-Safety Grant

The funds will go toward crackdown efforts on speeding, plus impaired and distracted driving, officials said.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department was awarded a $126,000 grant to boost traffic safety in the city, the department announced Thursday.

The funding, from the California Office of Traffic Safety, will be directed toward crackdowns on speeding, impaired and distracted driving, with the goal of reducing injuries and deaths on local roads, officials said.

“This funding will strengthen our commitment to public safety in our community,” Sgt. Justin Lash said.
