Livermore Police Credited With Help In Oakland Cop Killer Case

LIVERMORE, CA — Four days after Oakland Police Officer Tuan Le was shot and killed in the line of duty, the Oakland Police Department announced several arrests. Simultaneously, OPD thanked several law enforcement partners for their assistance in the investigation including the Livermore Police Department, Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, and the California Highway Patrol.

Le responded to a burglary at a marijuana dispensary at about 4:30 a.m. Friday, the second burglary alarm at the business that morning, and was shot.

In a Facebook post at around noon on Tuesday, OPD said that law enforcement officers are working tirelessly "to bring justice to the Le family. We are all devastated by this senseless act of violence, and our hearts continue to mourn his passing."

OPD did not release the names of the suspects that have been arrested, and did not detail any possible connections to Livermore. The investigation continues.

In addition to the agencies named above, OPD thanked the San Francisco Police Department, Vallejo Police Department, California Attorney General’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the US Marshals, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
