Livermore Prepares for 'Zombie Invasion'

On September 4, 6:00 p.m., the Plague starts at the Bothwell’s Downtown Art Studios, 62 So. L Street, and spreads throughout downtown Livermore in “Night of the Livermore Dead: a Zombie Pub Crawl”!

On this night, our studio artists and guests, led by our own in-house professional makeup artist Val Daft, will turn normal Livermore residents (21 years old and over only!) into disgusting horrific zombies and set them loose downtown, with their glow-in-the-dark Night of the Livermore Dead beer mugs created specially to help them slake the unspeakable thirst of a being recently awakened from the dead.

To keep our downtown safe (and the zombies off the street), several barkeeps and restaurants will offer specials, including a half-pint at half-price, a Walking Dead Cocktail, Dead Guy Ale, a Voodoo Bar, Eternal Happy Hour, Zombie French Dips and more, to appease the reanimated.

At the end of the evening, zombies will gather for a special “Thriller” dance at the Pavillion in front of the Bankhead, after having been trained while still sentient through Livermore School of Dance’s “Thriller” Dance video (on YouTube and the event Facebook page). Zombies can hangout downtown and head to the Vine Cinema for a screening of “Night of the Living Dead”, just $5 for pub crawl zombies.

4 VIP Extra Disgusting zombie makeup sessions, 4:00, 4:30, 5:00, 5:30 at $50 each (includes beer mug, 21 and up wristband, and maps with merchants’ special offers), must be reserved separately by contacting lryan@livermoreperformingarts.org.

Event tickets are on sale at the Bankhead Theater Ticket Office, 2400 First Street, Livermore, 925-373-6800, or www.bankheadtheater.org. $15 in advance through September 3, 2014, $20 at the door (subject to sellout), 21 and over only.

The event benefits the Bothwell’s Downtown Art Studios and the Bothwell Arts Center.
