Livermore Targeted By Scammers Posing As Police
Scammers are posing as Livermore police employees and using the department's caller ID.
LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department is warning residents that scammers are faking the department's caller ID and posing as employees to get money.
Scammers request payment over the phone and say the caller has an arrest warrant, traffic citation, missed subpoena or owes bail or restitution.
Police ask residents who experience a scam call to report it to police by calling 925-371-4987.
