Livermore Wine Country Downtown Street Festival 2016: Save the Date

Wine and beer tasting passes can be purchased online now.

LIVERMORE, CA: Save the date for the annual Livermore Wine Country Downtown Street Festival. The popular event, which features wine and beer tasting from local wineries and breweries, is scheduled for April 30 and May 1.

More than 150,000 people from all over the East Bay are expected to turn out for the festival, according to the Livermore Downtown Association. Wine and beer tasting passes can be purchased online ahead of time.

"Every year for the last 25 years, tens of thousands of visitors come to celebrate the Livermore Valley Wine Festival," Livermore Mayor John Marchand told Patch. "As always, we encourage everyone to take personal responsibility, participate responsibly, have a designated driver or use a cab, Lyft or Uber. We want to see you back here safely next year."

The downtown association also offers several suggestions to help festivalgoers choose the best transportation options, including using BART, bicycles and buses and planning ahead of time.

Three outdoor stages will feature live music during the event. A full list of featured performers can be found here.

The festival will be open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. In order to participate in wine or beer tasting, attendees must have valid identification.
