Those interested in getting involved in their community can apply to serve before April 15.

LIVERMORE, CA — The City of Livermore is calling on younger people to get involved in their community.

The deadline to apply for the Livermore Area Youth Advisory Commission is April 15. The commission promotes youth involvement in the community and supports communication between elected leaders and young people, the city said.

LAYAC’s purpose is to bring young people and adults together to address responsibility for the ‘care, health, safety, welfare and education of young people in Livermore.’

Committee members gain skills, knowledge and interest within the community. The board has 15 members ages 12 to 20 and 3 non-voting adults. The member term length is two years.
