Livermore's May Nissen Park Celebrating Grand Re-Opening
The park's playground was renovated with a storybook theme.
LIVERMORE, CA — The grand re-opening of May Nissen Park in Livermore is set for Dec. 18 at 2 p.m., and the community is invited to join the festivities. The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District Board of Directors and staff will host a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception featuring hot cocoa and candy canes.
May Nissen Park is located at 685 Rincon Avenue. The 12.2-acre community park includes the May Nissen Swim Center, tot lots, group picnic area available for rent, basketball courts, restrooms, horseshoe pits, sports fields, tennis courts, dog park and a preschool.
The park's playground was renovated with a storybook theme and an additional restroom facility. The budget for improvements was approved by the city in March 2018, and the project bid was awarded to Goodland Landscape Construction Inc.
