Authorities are searching for two suspects who fled their car after it flipped over and killed one of the passengers inside.

LIVERMORE, CA — A man was killed Sunday in Livermore in a rollover crash that authorities are saying is a solo hit-and-run. The California Highway Patrol is searching for two suspects who fled the scene after the incident.

At 5:32 p.m., CHP officers received reports that a burgundy Toyota Camry had overturned on westbound I-580, near North Livermore Avenue. Authorities say they received initial reports that the Camry was racing a tan Chevrolet Camaro.

Officers arrived at 5:36 and found an ejected passenger from the Camry, who was pronounced dead on scene. CHP did not provide the victim’s identity.

An initial investigation determined that the driver and a second passenger fled the Camry in another vehicle after self-extricating and walking to the freeway shoulder. The suspects sustained serious head injuries, but fled the scene in a white Suburban or similar vehicle before authorities arrived, CHP said in a news release.

The driver and passenger were described as Latino male adults in their thirties. Anyone with information about the suspects, the getaway car, or the possibility of street racing before the incident is asked to contact the Dublin CHP office at 925-828-0466.
