Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy Sets Ambitious Roadrunner Run Fundraising Goal

LIVERMORE, CA — The Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy is aiming to raise $30,000 to fund its 4th annual Roadrunner Run, which will take place Oct. 16.

Like last year, all contributions made through the Community Health and Education Foundation Giving Community platform in the month of August will be matched at 50%.

Funds will go toward run-day supplies and decorations; custom Roadrunner Run event shirts for all students, staff, and volunteers; run-day supplies; celebration snacks and student prizes, and PTO-funded programs like field trips, school-wide assemblies, on-campus events, and enrichment activities.

“The Roadrunner Run is one of our favorite school traditions,” Marylin Principal Joe Meunier said in a statement. “It’s not just about fundraising—it’s about creating unity, movement, and showing our students that their education is worth celebrating.”

The PTO is currently seeking local business sponsors and community donations. Sponsors will be able to advertise in newsletters, event shirts, banners, and social media.

“As a Title I school, we rely greatly on the generosity of our community to make our fundraising efforts possible," PTO President Rachael Prentiss said in a statement. "Last year, thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, we were able to give every teacher a classroom stipend, create a field trip fund for each grade level, and build a contingency account to help support our staff during a challenging financial year for our district. Every contribution — big or small — makes a real difference for our students and our school."
