Memorial At Double Fatal Crash Site In Livermore Vandalized
Family members are offering a reward for a missing mermaid tail, which was dedicated to one of the two victims.
LIVERMORE, CA — A roadside memorial in Livermore dedicated to two crash victims was damaged this week, according to the family of one of the young victims. A green mermaid tail at the site was taken while the rest of the site appears damaged and in disarray. The memorial consisted of the mermaid tail, flowers, candles and crosses along Stanley Boulevard in Livermore.
CHP officials said the night before Thanksgiving in 2017, a blue Kia Sorento driven by Lauren April Davis left the road, overturned several times and came to rest on the first set of railroad tracks. Five people were in the SUV at the time of the wreck.
The tail paid homage to Livermore native Alexys 'Lexy' Garcia, 25, who was fully ejected during the horrific crash and died a week later after succumbing to her injuries. Violet Campbell, 16, who attended Village High School in Pleasanton, was killed immediately after she was partially ejected. Two crosses at the site were dedicated to her.
