Mony Nop Announces Run For Livermore Mayor
Nop, a realtor and former police officer who grew up on the Killing Fields of Cambodia, will host a kickoff event Thursday.

LIVERMORE, CA — Mony Nop, a realtor who served 17 years in the Livermore Police Department, announced his candidacy for mayor of Livermore.
Nop listed his top priorities for the city as alternatives for Eden Housing, increased public safety, addressing homelessness, increased affordable housing, and bringing high-paying jobs to Livermore.
“This election is about leadership and two clearly different visions for our downtown and our city,” Nop said in a campaign statement. “Maintaining the character of our city center and historic downtown and providing much needed open space for all to enjoy is important to Livermore residents. We need to identify alternative locations that increase the number of affordable units, increase parking and decrease traffic congestion. As your Mayor, I will do everything possible to work with Eden Housing to find a compromise solution for all of us.”
