Motorcyclist Killed in Big-Rig Hit-And-Run Collision
The fatal crash occurred on Altamont Pass Road just west of Grant Line Road around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

A man was killed Thursday evening in a hit-and-run collision involving a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer truck east of Livermore, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old Mountain Home resident, was driving east on Altamont Pass Road just west of Grant Line Road around 5:30 p.m. when he lost control and fell to the ground, the CHP said. He was struck by the tires of an eastbound tractor-trailer, which did not stop after the collision. The motorcyclist died of his injuries at Eden Medical Center.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and investigators believe the big-rig driver might not realize it occurred, officials said.
