Nap in Stolen Car Leads to Arrest of 3 Transients: Livermore Police

Police said all three are believed to be involved in numerous car burglaries all over the Tri-Valley.

LIVERMORE, CA — Three Tri-Valley transients were arrested near a Livermore mobile home park Sunday after they were found sleeping inside a car stolen from Tracy, police officials said.

A community service officer noticed the car parked in the area of Sundial Circle and Sunstream Lane, occupied by two men and a woman sleeping inside. When officers contacted the trio, they discovered property believed to have been stolen during car burglaries from all over the Tri-Valley. Police said the car, which had a stolen license plate on it, was also stolen from the Tracy area.

Police officials said Pleasanton transient Andrew Oefelein, 24, Livermore transients Henry Ferreira-Bonnell, 28, and Melanie Anguiano, 26, were arrested on suspicion of multiple charges, including possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia, burglary tools and shaved keys, stolen property, and probation violations.

According to police, the stolen property was seized and investigators are working to find the owners. Among the recovered items were a purse and passport believed to be taken during a car burglary.

All three were arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
